Edgar Rosenberg

Edgar Rosenberg (September 21, 1925 – August 14, 1987)[1] was an American television producer. Born in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany, to German Jewish parents, Otto & Lilli, the Rosenberg family migrated to America in 1940, due to the outbreak of World War II. Rosenberg married comedian and commentator Joan Rivers and was the father of Melissa Rivers. His television credits include Husbands, Wives & Lovers. In addition, he had also been Rivers' manager and was a producer on The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers, on the newly formed Fox Television Network.

Rosenberg committed suicide in August 1987, several months after Fox fired Rivers. He overdosed on prescription drugs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rosenberg had been suffering from clinical depression, which Rivers believes was brought on by medication he had been taking since suffering a heart attack in 1984.[2]
